WORKPLACE REPRESENTATIVE TRAINING COURSES


  1. 2 days 9.30 AM start, TUES & WED 9 & 10 SEPTEMBER 2008.
  2. 2 days 9.30 AM start, TUES & WED 21 & 22 OCTOBER 2008.
  3. 2 days 9.30 AM start, WED & THUR 5 & 6 NOVEMBER 2008.
  4. 2 days 9.30 AM start, TUES & WED 9 & 10 DECEMBER 2008.

This course is available to delegates, workplace representatives, contacts and members who desire skills and knowledge about the role of a workplace representative. Covered in the course are subjects dealing with union history, the structure of the CPSU, workers rights, the role of delegates, current industrial reforms as well as workplace agreements specific to a participant s working environment. The course also provides information to assist delegates for organising in their workplace, identifying and dealing with issues including negotiating and meeting with management and seeking resolution of workplace issues. The course does not try to make participants into Union Industrial Organisers but does put pieces together so participants feel confident in progressing some issues in the workplace. It provides practicable help with useful reference material as well as knowledge of who and where they can go to gain assistance.

New Member Training is back. These ? day only sessions provide information to new members about your Union, how it works, contacts and what you should do if you need to talk to somebody about an issue at your workplace. There are broader benefits to be enjoyed by being a CPSU member and information regarding these other benefits will also be presented.
