Shrine employees had previously been part time and casual and few in number and employed on individual Common law contracts.

With the opening of the new Education Centre in Nov 2005, which is built in the undercroft of the Shrine, the numbers of staff have grown to about 35 with many now full time to cater for the increasing demands from schools, community groups and the general public.
