Professional Development Assessment
Complete the PDA Disclaimer to Reinforce Policy Intent
The current dispute between CPSU members and VicPol regarding the new performance system went before the Australian Industrial Relations Commission last week with our principle point of difference lying with the Voluntary Contribution Option and its use in an employee s assessment.
CPSU members are opposed to the incorporation of this option but have negotiated, with the assistance of the Commission, some policy around its application which can be applied as follows;
4.3.1 Recording Evidence.
There are 3 methods of recording evidence:
- by employee
- by assessor
- by a voluntary contributor
In relation to the contributions from a voluntary contributor then this should be predominately positive , however if it is to be negative then it must be approved by the assessor and the employee provided with an opportunity to respond prior to making the entry.
If the assessor believes the evidence entered by a voluntary contributor is inappropriate or cannot be substantiated the assessor must remove that evidence.
In order for this to occur CPSU members are asked to complete a document titled PDA Authority and provide a signed copy to your supervisor. Keep a copy yourself.
Click here to view/print the PDA authority; http://www.cpsuvic.org/public_docs/COPTHIS-2409-PDA-DISCLAIMER-PLEASE-SIGN.pdf
It is important that CPSU members take ownership of their PDA by reinforcing the intent of the policy by completing this authority.
Please distribute this bulletin and ask your colleagues to join CPSU to receive protection under this authority.
