New Classification Structure - Have Your Say

CPSU will be working on a new classification structure in the next 2 months that will incorporate the 1% performance pay in a new incremental salary structure.

The proposed AMES structure is derived from the non-executive career structure for the Victorian Public Service and will be comprised of six separate grade levels.

The HR Project Team has informed us that the new structure shall incorporate the following:

‚Äö?Ѭ¢ No overlapping bands where the grades and their value ranges are distinct and work at each grade is defined by a range of generic descriptors
‚Äö?Ѭ¢ A transparent and enforceable method of determining salary levels within bands
‚Äö?Ѭ¢ An opportunity for staff to progress within value ranges after meeting specific criteria at annual performance development review

The classification structure outlined in the AMES Staff Agreement 2004 shall apply until an AMES specific classification structure is finalised and implemented.

CPSU is holding a series of meetings next week at AMES to seek your feedback.

Any site specific site issues are also welcome.

Dates and times are as follows:

Monday 3 November 2008:

- 9am: AMES Fairfield
- 11am: AMES Auburn
- 12pm: AMES Parramatta

Tuesday 4 November 2008:

- 9am: AMES Bankstown
- 12pm: AMES Cabramatta
- 3pm: AMES Campsie

During these meetings CPSU will be calling for nominations and confirming CPSU reps so please consider whether you would like to undertake this position.

Members in Victoria will be advised shortly of their workplace meeting timetable.
