Impending Closure & Moves to Atwood plus Bundoora

CPSU has set up a process by which the union will be negotiating with DPI about the proposed relocations and this forum will be used to address the concerns raised by members, and to negotiate the best outcome for everyone.

As such, we are seeking representatives from our membership at each of Knoxfield, Box Hill, and Frankston DPI sites to participate in these discussions.

The first such discussion is due to occur at 1 Spring St, at 10:30am on Thursday March 17th.

If you would like to be involved, please contact Matthew Price at mprice@cpsuvic.org.

NOTICE OF INTENTION

It has been brought to our attention that some staff have been contacted by the Department via an online form, “ …seeking an indication of your initial intention to move to the new AgriBio facility”

DPI has also put out a FAQ document, which suggests that the arrangements regarding the move are a fait accompli.

CPSU is very disappointed by these developments and have contacted the Department and asked if they are serious about consultation around this.

They have assured us that they are and the consultation process will be genuine.

The people charged with managing the proposed move have a history of putting out misleading and unhelpful information, which has only served to add to the sense of anxiety and apprehension about the proposal.

It is disappointing that the union must continuously remind DPI about the need for consultation.

The request to fill in the Notice of Intention indicates that this is an indication only, and you will not be bound by this indication.

With this in mind, members need not feel any obligation to complete it.

CPSU will be formally writing to DPI requesting that they withdraw this request.
