100% Success Rate for all Fingerprint Reclassifications
Arising from our previous Victorian Public Service Agreements, the implementation of the Victorian Police Forensic officer work level descriptors was approved by the parties back in October 2007 and many fingerprint members applied for re-classification.
Following their implementation, employees who considered that their classification did not reflect the work value of their position were given the opportunity to have their roles reviewed.
This same process was applied to other Victorian Public Servants in 2004.
Originally only 3 fingerprint officers employed by VicPol were deemed successful and the other 18 applicants appealed and were contested at the Tripartite Panel.
CPSU is pleased to announce that the Panel has concluded, after more than two years of robust discussion, deferment and negotiation, and all applicants from the Fingerprint Branch have been successful in their reclassification.
The Tripartite Panel overturned all 18 Vicpol HRD decisions and confirmed that all fingerprint officers who participated should be reclassified.
Our congratulations to all CPSU Forensic Officers who participated in this process.
Additional thanks to the Tripartite Panel for their efforts, patience and sensitivity.
This is an unprecedented victory for CPSU members.
When your non CPSU colleagues ask you why they should join the union then this is a story that should be told.
Our 7 day a week, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year industrial protection ensures you have the principal public sector organisation looking after your working rights, winning wage increases, protecting your conditions, and providing personal industrial assistance when you need it.
CPSU MEMBERSHIP IS PROTECTION FOR YOUR MOST IMPORTANT ASSET. YOUR JOB.
Speak to a colleague today about the benefits of CPSU membership and have them contribute to our successes rather than just enjoying the benefits.
TOGETHER WE DO BETTER!
