ANZAC Day Public Holiday - Long Weekend
Under the Public Holidays Act the State Government has declared that Sunday 25th April 2010 is not a public holiday; it is being substituted and Monday 26th is now appointed as the public holiday instead.
For rostered workers the public holiday penalty rate will apply for Monday not Sunday.
For most of our members the only impact will be a long weekend.

You will also see that a similar arrangement has been gazetted for 2011.
CPSU's Agreements all contain clauses for additional or substituted Public Holidays to take advantage of any State Government substitution arrangements.
Departments and agencies may have issued general advice to employees about these arrangements but the rule of thumb means that if you're working this Sunday then double time applies and if you're working next Monday then double and a half applies. Otherwise if you're not working Sunday or Monday you're on holiday. Enjoy and Drive Safely.

CPSU - 125 in 2010.
When 1,000 colonial public servants crammed into the Athenaeum Hall in Collins Street on 17 June 1885 to form the Victorian Public Service Association they had no idea that we d be still here and turning 125 this year.
TOGETHER WE DO BETTER!
