EMLO Training in Wonthaggi: Week 4 Photo Competition Winner

Updated 22/04/2016

Our Photo Competition winner for the fourth week is Doug Caulfield of DHS Traralgon.

Doug's photograph shows an Emergency Management (EMLO) training course underway in Wonthaggi. His photograph demonstrates not only inter-departmental co-operation, but also the direct role Victorian Public Servants play in protecting Victorian communities. Doug explains that the training sessions were run by the Victorian Emergency Services Commissioner and were part of "a concerted effort in the Gippsland Region to ensure that there will be sufficient trained Emergency Management Liaison Officers from a variety of departments and agencies ready to take on the important role of representing their agency in the event of a major emergency incident". Recent natural disasters in Victoria have highlighted the valuable role of public sector employees in assisting with emergency management but little public attention has been focussed on the workers who do this as part of their day to day jobs.

Congratulations Doug. Doug wins a $50 Woolworths Gift Voucher.

There is now less than 1 week remaining to submit your photos and the competition is starting to conclude. If you're still in the planning stages, stop now and start clicking!
