Parks Industrial Action Escalates

Updated 22/04/2016

Breaking News ....... CPSU has notified Parks of further action which will close Parks over Easter.  Read our newsletter to members.

CPSU has notified Parks of our intention to commence additional industrial action in Parks Victoria.  The new bans are part of our 2nd stage of protected action and will commence from Friday March 30th, and will continue indefinitely.  The industrial action will take the form of the following:

 1. Indefinite industrial action in the form of a ban on participating in controlled or prescribed burns.

 2. Indefinite industrial action in the form of a ban on all duties performed in preparation for controlled or prescribed burns.

 3. Indefinite ban on working alone outside of a Parks Vic office.

 4. Indefinite ban on checking or responding to emails.

 5. Indefinite industrial action in the form of not answering any phone calls except in an emergency.

This is pretty clear.  As of Friday morning, there will be indefinite bans on answering phone calls (except in an emergency), on working alone outside a Parks Victoria Office, on checking or responding to any emails, and on all work in relation to controlled or prescribed burns.

This is an escalation of our action and has unfortunately become necessary due to the Government's complete refusal to put forward any kind of reasonable offer.

Members have been out of agreement for more than 300 days and the last pay rise received was paid over 570 days ago.

The Government and Parks Vic might be happy to starve us out but we are clearly determined to achieve a fair offer.
