Overwhelming YES Vote for WorkCover Agreement

I've just been down to sign the new Agreement with Claire Amies and it will now be lodged with Fair Work.

The votes are in and we have an overwhelming "YES" vote!

"YES" votes:    784 (93.9%)

   "NO" votes:        51 (6.1%)

Eligible voters:        1044
Total respondents:        835 (80.0% response rate)

  • Real pay increases for WorkSafe employees – applied twice a year with 1.75% in December and 1.5% increase in June each year for four years (1st 1.75% pay increase backdated to 1 December 2016)
  • $1,500 up-front payment
  • New General and Appointed Officer pay structures with yearly Incremental progression ability of approximately 1.5%
  • 2% top of the band cash payment for those that hit the top of the band, in General pay structure
  • 20 days’ Family Violence Leave
  • Increase to 2 weeks for secondary carer paid parental leave (formally paternity leave)
  • Inclusion of Sick Leave pool
  • Inclusion of OH&S clauses such as bullying, occupational violence, anti-discrimination and regular reporting to CPSU on DWG information
  • Establishment of an agreed competency and capability framework with CPSU to assist with grading of positions
