Bargaining Facilitator Engaged
Updated 21/01/2020
CPSU decided to trigger the facilitation clause in our Victorian Public Service Agreement to assist with getting Government negotiators more focused on the job of reaching agreement with us following their settlement with the Police Association just prior to Christmas. Greg Smith (former Fair Work Commission Deputy President) has been engaged to oversee these discussions. CPSU also requested a good faith payment be made to members to assist continued negotiations as the current Agreement has reached its nominal expiry date and many are involved fighting bush-fires and/or assisting communities affected, including our precious fauna. The government hasn't replied to this reasonable request yet. The first facilitated negotiations commence today and will run for 5 hours every Tuesday and Thursday for at least the next month or Agreement in principle achieved.
