New CPSU members contribute $1.00 per week to the campaign fund for better employment conditions. This amount was included in the rates shown above. After 12 months the campaign fund levy reduces to 50cents per week, and after two years membership the campaign fund levy will cease. These funds may pay for advertising, extra organisers, activist training, lobbying and legal strategies, and workplace and community campaigning. The campaign fund, like all CPSU finances, is audited annually, included in the published annual reports and subject to the union\'s strict governance and accountability rules.
