OHS Refresher

HSR Refresher OHS Training Course Work-related violence - November 2025

All elected health and safety representatives (HSR’s), and deputies who have attended a HSR initial OHS training course, are entitled to attend a WorkSafe-approved HSR refresher OHS training course each year under section 67 of the OHS Act 2004.

Section 67 also allows HSRs to choose the course they attend, in consultation with their employer.

CPSU is approved by WorkSafe to deliver the HSR Refresher OHS training course – work-related violence.

The course provides HSR's and deputy HSR's with information and skills required to successfully carry out their roles and powers under the OHS Act 2004 and includes relevant case studies and activities where HSRs can learn more about participating in the identification, prevention and control of the risks associated with work-related violence.

HSRs and deputy HSR’s are entitled to time off work with pay and the costs associated to attend the courses are paid by the employer, in accordance with the OHS Act 2004

Although HSRs are the primary audience, this course may also be suitable for managers, supervisors, health and safety committee members and others looking to broaden their knowledge of the risks of work-related violence.

This course will be delivered face to face.

CPSU provides all participants with course materials.

Participants will receive a certificate of attendance upon completion of the course.

The course is limited to 15 participants.

CPSU can also deliver group training upon request.
