Fine Points - Fair Work Australia Conciliation

Updated 22/04/2016

Vehicle Review
CPSU attended conciliation at FWA yesterday in an effort to have DOJ provide to our union members the final document drafted regarding the Vehicle review.

Our initial dispute application was made prior to DOJ providing the Draft Regional Operational Vehicle Management Policy however this was also discussed as part of FWA s proceedings.

DOJ have committed to provide the final vehicle review documentation by Friday 1st October.

At FWA the union put the position that in order to formulate an alternative proposal, full disclosure of the documentation around the vehicle review must be provided.

This is part of the process set out in our Agreement.

DOJ have agreed to provide the review by Friday.

CPSU will assist delegates with the drafting of an alternate proposal.

Our alternatives will be formulated with our delegates early next week and CPSU will co ordinate a date and time later this week for delegates to meet.

At Fair Work Australia, CPSU made it very clear that DOJ must seriously take into consideration the financial impact this policy will have on Sheriffs and the many health and safety risks that arise as a result of their proposed policy.

A further meeting at FWA has been set for 7th October with DOJ to discuss the proposal and all delegates will be invited to participate in those discussions.

Please keep your emails coming in regarding your concerns or if you have any information you think is relevant.

Once again thank you to all Sheriffs who have provided feedback and information and reiterate if anyone has written supporting documentation regarding your offer of employment, a copy would be much appreciated.

Please distribute this bulletin and ask your colleagues to join CPSU to have their voice heard and their views represented.

CPSU - 125 in 2010.

When 1,000 colonial public servants crammed into the Athenaeum Hall in Collins Street on 17 June 1885 to form the Victorian Public Service Association they had no idea that we d be still here and turning 125 this year.
