Professional Development Assessment Further Update
CPSU remains opposed to changes to VicPol s Performance system and has listed a dispute with the Australian Industrial Relations Commission to be held shortly and until the matter is determined, the status quo shall prevail meaning that the rollout involving the ludricous situation where third parties can comment on your work performance cannot proceed.
In doing so the clause 10 - Disputes and Grievances from our Victorian Public Service Agreement 2006 has been activated.
CPSU requests that all parties desist from proceeding with the rollout of the PDA.
For further clarification CPSU Industrial Officer Ms Emily Castle can be contacted on 9639 1822 or e-mail ecastle@cpsuvic.org .
Declarable Associations
CPSU alongside with VicPol staff have been advised of the most recent changes to the former Improper Associations Instruction.
CPSU notes the changes and will be preparing a formal response as soon as possible.
In the interim we are seeking further discussion with Senior Management.
Changes to Discipline
There has been some discussion regarding changes to how Discipline will be applied in Victoria Police. Please note that this speculative discussion only applies to Sworn Staff and there are already sufficient policies and protocols in place for Victorian Public Servants employed as Police Support staff.
Similarly, Alcohol and Drug testing after Critical Incidents only applies again to Sworn Staff.
CPSU has met exhaustively on this subject and there will be no further discussion entered into.
VPSA 09
The Victorian Public Service Agreement 2006 expires in March 2009 and CPSU is preparing our claims now.
If you have any specific concerns or suggestions that will assist us with our claim development please forward them by e-mail to Agreement09@cpsuvic.org or arrange to have a CPSU representative come to your workplace.
CPSU welcomes your views about your pay and encourages you to email or fax our member claim worksheet with your comments or ideas.
