A Year of Massive Restructures and Amalgamations.

Multiple 'Implementations of Change' proposals including the huge initiative ‚Äö?Ñ??Strengthening Student Support- the way forward‚Äö?Ñ?? and the finalisation of DHS ‚Äö?Ñ?¨ DOE into DEECD with co-locations of former DHS Early Years staff in Glen Waverley, Ballarat, and others planned in Bendigo, Geelong and other offices all required CPSU assistance during 2008.

Wannick-Still no proposal received, and this issue is being taken forward

Non teaching staff, now called, Education Support achieved a new Agreement that delivered the best outcome for many years.

In the Treasury Precinct and St. Andrews Place, there have been accommodation issues, restructures and realignments.

CPSU has assisted members with these, and continues to offer support to members through the CPSU/DEECD Consultative Committee, which meets monthly.

Also a new accommodation committee has been formed.

CPSU representatives and Industrial Organisers will attend meetings to ensure members entitlement to a safe healthy workplace without reduction of amenity.

The OHS committee at Treasury Precinct finally met, after many frustrating months of DEECD dragging its feet in complying with the OHS requirements.

CPSU has stood firm on being properly consulted about these issues, and now will co operate with the OHS Committee to resolve issues and assist in DEECD s compliance with the OHS Act 2004.

Members in Education who are still located at 50 Lonsdale Street are looking forward to being a part of the DEECD consultative committee, with an election for representatives to be held in the new year.

Regional Metropolitan and Victorian employees had a testing year, with workloads spiraling and issues of TIL and overtime being raised again and again.

CPSU made visits to all Regional offices, took member s concerns to management, and will continue this in 2009. CPSU calls on Regional employees to get on board - to strengthen the CPSU we have great members, and need an active presence. Lets get better outcomes for next year!

The launch of CPSU s log of claims for VPSA 09 was held, and much feedback was gathered from members .

This will be a major campaign in 2009, and we look forward to continuing the negotiations and involving members in the process.

VRQA has almost doubled in size, and new representatives have been chosen.

CPSU was consulted according to the clauses in the VPSA 06, and a commitment from Management to monitor workload issues was given.

Employees from every Office in DEECD sought CPSU assistance either individually or collectively in 2008, with CPSU Representatives assisting their colleagues along with Industrial staff.

CPSU give you industrial protection 365 days of the year. Join CPSU to be a part of one of the largest and most effective Unions in Australia..
