Public Holiday Plans
This year Christmas Day, Boxing Day, and New Year s Day next year fall on a weekend. In these circumstances the Public Holidays Act provides alternative holidays. These provisions are replicated in our Agreements including the Victorian Public Service Agreement.

The holidays for 2010/2011 are: Monday 27 December; Tuesday 28 December; & Monday 3 January.

Employees who would normally work on these days have an entitlement to a day off with pay. Part time employees are only entitled to payment if the public holiday is on a day they normally work. In most cases Departments and agencies are closed on these days.
