It’s less than 100 days until our current Agreement nominally expires on 30 June and our claims will focus on salary, superannuation and the career (classification) structure(s) as key issues to drive retention and assist recruitment to deliver our public services.

 Our campaign in 2011 is V triple S


- six (6) per cent per year,
- 1.75% increased super, and
- fixing the career structure(s).

The Victorian Public Service Agreement covers more than 32,000 departmental and agency employees made up of more than 400 different occupations.

Health, Child Protection, Housing, Disability, Courts, SES, Prisons, Community Corrections, Sheriffs, Forensic, Fingerprints, Crime Analysts, Ministerial Drivers, Environmental Protectors, Planners, Tourism, Heritage, Local Government Inspectorate, Business and Community Development, Employment, Agricultural Scientists, Fisheries & Wildlife Officers, public land Firefighters are just some of those occupations delivering services to Victorians

There are nexus Agreements (Arts Institutions amongst others) and a number of mirror Agreements (SES, VicForests) that must also flow.

Another 2,000 -3,000 employees are covered here.

In addition to our 6% p.a. salary increase, our claims include a 1.75% increase p.a. in Super contributions by the Employer, improved disturbance rates, workplace based child care, a 35hour week, removal of all calculation caps, 4hr minimum payment, 6 weeks annual leave, 26 weeks Parental Leave with Federal PML extra, OUA online study added plus Domestic Violence leave.
