ES WIN Pay Rises plus Sign on Bonus

Our Ed Support staff and teachers dispute is over with the State Government agreeing yesterday to increase wages for Education Support staff to between 12 per cent and 17.1 per cent over the life of the new agreement. The new proposed Agreement will operate until October 2016. All ES staff will also receive a $1,000 bonus, pro rata for part time staff, paid when the new agreement is registered by Fair Work Australia.
** One Agreement **
There will now be only one wages and conditions agreement that covers all staff in Victorian public schools – this will be known as the Victorian Government Schools Agreement.
** Recall Ends **
Education Support staff will also be entitled to the same leave provisions as teachers, meaning our members will not be required to work any of the school holidays. If ES staff work any of the school holidays they must be
paid a daily allowance, equivalent to a day’s wage (pro rata if less than a full day’s work). ES staff may still be “recalled” for up to six days however
they must be paid the daily allowance of a day’s wage for each day they are recalled. This ends the current practice of being recalled with no compensation.
