New Year Pay Rises

A further 1.75% pay increase falls due on 1 January and will be included in the first pay in the New Year for members under many of our Agreements including Public Service, Parliament, Parks, State Library, Museum, National Gallery, ACMI, Film Victoria, VicSES, Growth Areas and PTV

This increase is again in addition to progression payments.   The new pay rise is another welcome addition to our take home pay and a reminder of our union advantage.   VPS pay rates.

Increases are also due early in 2015 for our members in Schools, Parks, Legal Aid, Electorate Officers and WorkCover.

15of our 51 separate Agreements were negotiated during the year with 10 receiving Fair Work approval including the Universities at Melbourne and Latrobe, Port Phillip Prison, Serco Traffic Camera Services, Trust for Nature, Public Health Dental, GPAC, Vic Health and State Trustees.

Bargaining has concluded at another 5 employers however agreements have yet to complete the FWC approval process.  These include Shrine, Gardens, TAC, AHPRA and SRW.

Protected industrial action took place in the course of bargaining this year at Port Phillip Prison, Transport Accident Commission, Royal Botanical Gardens, and Goulburn Murray Water.

24agreements will need to be renegotiated during 2015. 1,780new members have been recruited this year as at today. 

CPSU continues to consolidate our financial position for the future with our net member funds increasing to $3,046,813.  An operating surplus of $607,495 was achieved this year despite a slight decline in revenue (1.9%) following widespread job losses in our sector from Government budget cuts.
