Workplace representative training is available to delegates, workplace representatives, contacts and members who desire skills and knowledge for the role of workplace representative.

 

Level 1 Workplace Representative Training

Workplace representative training is available to delegates, workplace representatives, contacts and members who desire skills and knowledge for the role of workplace representative.

The course provides information to assist delegates for organising in their workplace, identifying and dealing with issues including negotiating and meeting with management and seeking resolution of workplace issues.

The course does not try to make participants into Union Industrial Organisers, but does put pieces together so participants feel confident in dealing with some issues in the workplace.  It provides practicable help with useful reference material as well as providing knowledge of whom and where they can go to gain assistance.

The Workplace Representative training is a full one day course.

Level 2 Workplace Representative Training

The union are currently putting together a training package for the Level 2 Representative Training.

If you are interested in being contacted about this once dates have been established please complete the Application for CPSU Training providing your name and contact details and noting "Level 2 Training" as the course and state "EOI" in the course date section.

You do not need your manager to sign off on this form as it is an expression of interest only.

HSR INITIAL OHS TRAINING      

March Training - 8^th, 9^th, 22^nd, 23^rd, 24^th

May Training - 3^rd, 4^th, 17^th, 18^th, 19^th 

All elected HSR’s and Deputies should enrol in this course. It covers your powers and entitlements as well as the OHS Act legislation and up to date information on emerging OHS issues. The course also covers communication and negotiation skills.

The Cost involved for this course is $850 for CPSU members’ & $950 inc GST for non-members. COURSE COSTS ARE BORNE BY YOUR DEPARTMENT and 14 DAYS NOTICE must be given to your Employer to facilitate your paid leave to attend.

Under section 67 of the OHS Act, HSRs and Deputies, in consultation with their employer, are able to choose an OHS course approved by WorkSafe Victoria and CPSU suggests you attend its approved Initial course.  THIS COURSE IS LIMITED TO 15 PARTICIPANTS.
 

HSR REFRESHER OHS TRAINING

March Training - Wednesday 15^th

May Training - Wednesday 24^th

All HSR’s and Deputies who have attended the Initial 5 Day OHS training course are entitled to attend a one day refresher course each year of their term of office.

The Cost involved for this course is $310 for CPSU members & $380 inc GST for non-members. COURSE COSTS ARE BORNE BY YOUR DEPARTMENT and 14 DAYS NOTICE must be given to your Employer to facilitate your paid leave to attend.
