Electorate Officer Pay Talks
The EBA discussions are moving again, having been stalled since late June. This was when Parliament of Victoria (PoV) Management failed to respond to an offer to settle the dispute made by CPSU.
CPSU has been active behind the scenes in the last few months, urging the government to act to break the deadlock.
The principal issue is the question of the grade structure, which unfairly restricts the classification of EOs in each office.
On Monday 11 December the parties to the dispute – CPSU negotiators, the Independent Bargaining Representatives (IBRs) and PoV Management – attended the Fair Work Commission for a Private Conference before Michelle Bissett.
After more than three hours of negotiations, we feel that some progress was made.
The final CPSU and IBR joint position is now being costed by PoV Management.
We expect an answer from Management when we reconvene at the Fair Work Commission on Monday 18 December at 4.30 pm.
