A recent announcement in relation to the sustainability of G-MW was made in Tatura late last week by the Minister resulting in the release of the Strategic Advisory Panel report.

Detailed in the report is a number of findings that foreshadow, amongst other things, a need for immediate cuts to capital and operating expenses, and changes within the workforce.

GMW has already been through many years of re-orgs, retructures, and re-invention, not to mention CEO and senior management personnel changes, so to say the workforce is change fatigued would be understating the situation.

CPSU is seeking early engagement from G-MW and DELWP on mitigating any impact this new 'efficiency' focus will have on our jobs.

While the language contained in the report does concern us, no detail on how these recommendations will be achieved has yet been released.
