CPSU is committed to your privacy. CPSU/SPSF Group Vic Branch complies with the provisions of the Commonwealth Privacy Act and only collects information about you for union related purposes. The information provided in this form is used to enable the union to contact you about matters relating to your union membership and to ensure that we have the necessary information to represent your employment and related interests. A full privacy statement is available here.
New CPSU members contribute $1.00 per week to the campaign fund for better employment conditions. This amount was included in the rates shown above. After 12 months the campaign fund levy reduces to 50cents per week, and after two years membership the campaign fund levy will cease. These funds may pay for advertising, extra organisers, activist training, lobbying and legal strategies, and workplace and community campaigning. The campaign fund, like all CPSU finances, is audited annually, included in the published annual reports and subject to the union's strict governance and accountability rules.
The legal requirements to resign say that
In order to resign from the union a member must deliver to the Branch Secretary a notice of resignation in writing, such notice to take effect at the end of two weeks after the notice is received by the union.
We will accept emails addressed to enquiry@cpsuvic.org, faxes to (03) 9662 4591 or letters to PO Box 24233, Melbourne, VIC 3001. Please address your resignation letter to "The Branch Secretary", and note that a two week notice period applies. If you are retiring from the service, note that you may wish to transfer your membership to our Retired Officers Division rather than leaving us completely.
