State Intelligence Review
Fair Work Australia presided over our dispute about VicPol's failure to follow their own recommendations and to have the current review suspended until the parties resolve matters arising from the previous review.
Commisioner Smith found that despite their decision to not proceed with the Grades 3 to 4 transitory arrangements, he could not compel the employer to honour the former Review s findings.
CPSU asked that those that had already entered into this arrangement be given additional consideration within the new Review.
The parties agreed that those who had already submitted work value reviews need not do so again.
On the second review matter Superintendent Paterson stated the most recent review would conclude in 4 weeks time.
CPSU asked that those that had already submitted work value reclassifications would be reconsidered in the new context.

CPSU is disappointed that the Issues and Options paper provides so little information.
Our chief concern is that VicPol asserts that the new structure will provide better career pathways for Public Servants and yet there is no evidence of that in the material provided.
CPSU has requested that the disputes remain open until we receive further particulars.
The matter will be relisted in 3 week s time.
Bargaining in 2011 will be conducted under the federal government's Fair Work Act arrangements for the first time and if you're already a CPSU member you're bargaining representation is guaranteed.
