ZOOs Victoria Agreement delivers over Short Term
CPSU & Zoos Victoria have reached agreement on a new Zoos Victoria Salaried Staff Agreement which will be a relatively short agreement, expiring in mid 2011, and featuring salary increases of 8% over approximately 18 months made up of the following payments;

- 3% on 1/12/09,
- 2.5% on 1/7/10
- 2.5% on 1/1/11.

This is a total of 8% over approximately 18 months. Other significant changes include:

? Revised performance pay system, which is clearer and more accessible, and removes reference to ZV s revenue targets
? Performance bonus amounts to be negotiated annually with the Union
? Clear progression criteria, whereby an employee can progress through the salary structure
? Extension of the spread of hours from 5:30 – 6pm, but providing employees have the right to refuse to work beyond 5:30
? Retention of Higher Duties arrangements, whereby all employees performing Higher Duties are entitled to 100% of the appropriate payment (ZV sought to reduce this entitlement)
? A sign on bonus to be paid to all employees, as compensation for the delay since the last salary increase (amounts will vary according to salary)

A draft copy of the Agreement can be found:

The Agreement now has to be approved by Department of Sustainability and Environment and Workforce Victoria.

It will then be put to a ballot of all ZV staff. Finally, it will need to be approved by Fair work Australia. Once this is complete, salary increases will be backdated to 1/12/2009.
