Unguarded Press: - ToT Court Application

Updated 22/04/2016

CPSU and the union's lawyers met with WorkSafe HR over a week ago in an attempt to resolve the Tools of Trade car issue sooner rather than later, and without having to go to court, but all these attempts have now failed and we'll now proceed with our prosecution to the Magistrates Court.

VWA had previously rejected the proposal to ‘grandfather the issue.

Meaning that employees could keep their vehicle whilst they remained in their job.

CPSU s latest proposal that employees should be financially compensated for the loss of the vehicle has also been rejected by VWA.

CPSU has now instructed its lawyers to proceed with an application in the Magistrates Court to have the matter dealt with. Further information will be provided as it comes to hand.

In the meantime, CPSU is determined to ensure that the employees who have lost their ToT vehicle are not victimised by VWA because of the court action undertaken on their behalf.

Those members need to be supported through this difficult time, and a good turnout of members at the next meeting on 23 June would be appreciated.

Please call Jimmy Reid on 03 9639-1822 or email jreid@cpsuvic.org if you wish to discuss any issues in the meantime.

Please distribute this bulletin and ask your colleagues to join CPSU to have their voice heard and their views represented.

CPSU - 125 in 2010.

When 1,000 colonial public servants crammed into the Athenaeum Hall in Collins Street on 17 June 1885 to form the Victorian Public Service Association they had no idea that we d be still here and turning 125 this year.

TOGETHER WE DO BETTER!
