COP THIS .............
Higher Duties Victory - 54 months Owed
CPSU in our July COP THIS exposed Victoria Police s failure to pay higher duties at the relevant value range and appeared to be paying higher duties at the grade base salary only. This payment discrepancy can involve salary levels several thousands of dollars lower when calculating HD payments.

The Victorian Public Service Agreement states clearly that the Higher Duties eligibility ‘includes a position classified at a higher value range .

CPSU understands that Victoria Police sent up a follow up email stating any employees who had not been paid correctly from 9 December 2009 onwards could apply for back pay retrospectively at the value range.
CPSU argued that the effective date for back pay should occur from the commencement of the Agreement - March 2006.
CPSU notified a dispute with Fair Work Australia which was then withdrawn after receiving a commitment from Victoria Police to pay all eligible higher duties applications since the commencement of our Agreement.
It is believed that there are hundreds of employees affected by VicPol's misinterpretation and ALL eligible CPSU members should make retrospective applications through the usual HR avenues.
Those members who have already responded via the Union will be paid immediately and need not re-apply.

CPSU - 125 in 2010.
When 1,000 colonial public servants crammed into the Athenaeum Hall in Collins Street on 17 June 1885 to form the Victorian Public Service Association they had no idea that we d be still here and turning 125 this year.
TOGETHER WE DO BETTER!
