Two new super departments were announced today by new Premier John Brumby.
A new Department of Planning and Community Development will be created to deliver improvements in urban development, particularly in the outer suburbs and regions.
INFORMATION FOR CPSU MEMBERS EMPLOYED IN DPCD
Two new super departments were announced today by new Premier John Brumby.
A new Department of Planning and Community Development will be created to deliver improvements in urban development, particularly in the outer suburbs and regions.
The department will replace the Department for Victorian Communities and will include the divisions and authorities that currently report to the Minister for Planning within the Department of Sustainability and Environment.
Member for Western Metropolitan Province in the Legislative Council Justin Madden will lead the new Department of Planning and Community Development.
Member for Thomastown in the Legislative Assembly Peter Batchelor will have his portfolio’s renamed Community Development.
CPSU officials and delegates are due to meet with DPCD officers early next month to question the detail outlined. CPSU will be make submissions on member issues arising from these machinery changes and will seek member input to indicate the issues and to offer alternative proposals where appropriate.
