Water News: - GMW - Full Throttle Restructure to Commence

Updated 22/04/2016

Strategic Change Program Underway without Consultation
CPSU has been advised that the so called ‘full throttle change exercise has commenced at Goulburn Murray Water and with staff being notified about the ‘restructure and potential redundancies and job changes it's put paid to the State Government's 'Live & Work in Regional Victoria' mantra.

In part, the change exercise proposes that staff apply for our own jobs, on lower salary with less security of employment.

Major change under our current Agreement requires GMW to notify CPSU, our members and delegates, and affected staff of any such changes taking into account the requirements to fully consult.

CPSU has called on GMW's CEO to cease all action in relation to ‘full throttle until such consultation has occurred.

On the eve of a new Agreement and following months of constructive negotiations its pretty disturbing for GMW employees to be treated in this manner.

CPSU - 125 in 2010.

When 1,000 colonial public servants crammed into the Athenaeum Hall in Collins Street on 17 June 1885 to form the Victorian Public Service Association they had no idea that we d be still here and turning 125 this year.
