Local Group Bi-Annual Rep Elections - Nominations Open

Bi-annual elections for each prison site's local group are being conducted consistent with CPSU's Prison Division's (PD) Constitution and the resolution from our PD annual meeting last September 2007.

This determined to complete local group elections at all sites by no later than 30 June 2008.

The elections therefore will be for the local executive and local committees at each site only.

The term of office for the local executive and local committees will be from 1st July 2008 until 30th June 2010.

In accordance with the rules of CPSU SPSF Group Victorian Branch I hereby call for nominations for positions on the local Executive (3 vacancies) at each CV site, SESG, Fulham and Port Phillip Prison.

  - President,
  - Vice President, and
  - Secretary.

Nominations are also called for the local group committee members (numbers to be determined by the local group executive taking into account the size of the site) at each CV site, SESG, Fulham and PPP.

Nominations will open on Wednesday 23rd April 2008.

Nominations on the form attached must be lodged by fax (03 9639 1822) or emailed to Karen Batt on kbatt@cpsuvic.org by close of business on Monday 5th May 2008.

In the event an election is required for any site, the following timetable will apply:

 - Postal ballots would be conducted between Monday 19 May and Friday 30 May 2008.

 - Ballots would then be counted on Monday 2 June 2008.

All new site reps will take office on 1st July 2008 and training will be provided in the role, their relationship to the state-wide Prisons Division Executive, and the central CPSU SPSF Victorian Branch Council.
